The City of Gering offices will be closed Monday, January 19, 2026 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day. City of Gering Residential and Commercial customers normally collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Residential customers need to be aware that collection may be later than normal due to the holiday. All Commercial Single Stream will be collected on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

REMINDER:  Yard waste collection season starts March 30, 2026. If the green container needs emptied, please contact the sanitation department at 308-436-7568. Green containers are for yard waste only.
