Gering Fireworks Discharge Period for the 2026 Season

GERING - City of Gering Officials would like to inform Gering citizens that due to exceptional drought conditions, the City Council has amended the ordinance pertaining to the timeframe for discharging fireworks.

Fireworks may be ignited and/or discharged within the city limits of the City of Gering only during the days of June 29 through July 4, 2026.  Fireworks may not be discharged before 8 a.m. or after 10:30 p.m. June 29 through July 3.  Fireworks may not be discharged before 8 a.m. or after 11:59 p.m. on July 4.

City of Gering Officials encourage residents to celebrate the July 4th Holiday safely this year.  With the increased dry conditions, please use extra caution with fireworks.  Make sure fireworks are cold prior to placing them in a trash receptacle.  Always have water readily available when discharging fireworks. Discharge fireworks far away from dry vegetation. Do not hold fireworks while discharging.

City officials would also like to remind citizens that it is their responsibility to clean up streets and sidewalks after discharging fireworks. The City also requests that citizens be mindful and respectful of people and animals that may have traumatic reactions to fireworks. Public cooperation and consideration of others is greatly appreciated.
