Discharging of fireworks on New Year's Eve

                                           DISCHARGING OF FIREWORKS ON NEW YEAR’S EVE

GERING – City of Gering Officials would like to remind citizens who plan to discharge fireworks on New Year’s Eve to please make sure that discharged fireworks have cooled prior to placing them in a trash receptacle or dumpster to avoid starting a fire.  Always have water readily available when discharging fireworks.  Do not hold fireworks while discharging and adhere to time limitations as set forth by ordinance No. 2047.  Fireworks may be discharged on December 31 from 8:00 a.m. and until 11:59 p.m. 

The City would also like to remind citizens that it is their responsibility to clean up streets and sidewalks after discharging fireworks; everyone’s cooperation is greatly appreciated.  The City also requests that citizens be mindful and respectful of people and animals that may have traumatic reactions to fireworks.
