                                                CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL

GERING – City of Gering Officials encourage residents to recycle Christmas trees instead of sending them to the Landfill.  
The City of Gering will once again be accepting live Christmas trees from residents.  Trees may be taken to the vacant lot east 
of the Monument Shadows Golf Course Maintenance Facility on Country Club Road.  

Residents may also set live Christmas trees in the alley next to dumpsters and Street Department personnel will 
collect them until January 16, 2026. 

The Gering Parks Department will grind the trees and utilize the mulch around City trees and in City landscape beds. 
Before recycling Christmas trees, please remove all lights, decorations and tree stands as they do not make good mulch.
