Using the Library
You can register for a new library card by filling out an application form. Identification is required. Children under the age of sixteen must have a parent or guardian signature. Replacement cards can be issued if your library card is lost. There is a $2.00 fee for a replacement card.
The majority of materials within the library's collection may be borrowed for two weeks. One week loan periods have been established for magazines and videos.
Gering Library doesn't charge overdue fines. If your item is more than 14 days overdue, your account will be blocked. You may renew by telephone, text, email, or online. Materials may be renewed twice if no one is on hold for the item. You are still responsible for damaged and lost items.
The library welcomes gifts of books and other materials with the understanding that the Library Director will evaluate them in accordance with the criteria applied to purchased materials. No conditions may be imposed relating to any book after its acceptance by the library.
Gering Public Library gladly accepts donations of books in good condition. Often these books will go into the Friends Book Sale. The proceeds of the sale are used for library programs and other services.
