 CITY OF GERING UTILITY BILLING SOFTWARE CONVERSION

AND HOW IT WILL IMPACT CUSTOMERS

GERING – The City of Gering would like to inform its utility customers that the City is currently undergoing a utility billing software conversion.  Beginning October 18, 2022, City staff will start converting data.  This process will continue for an indefinite period of time during which there will be no activity.  Customers that have an online account and pay online will not see their payment posted until sometime in November when everything is back up and running again.  Customers are welcome to call the City Offices at (308) 436-6800 to get an account balance.  Additionally, ACH payments may not come out on the 10th of November as usual.  However, ACH payments will likely post not long after the 10th.  City staff will work with customers during this process to assist in any way possible. 

Finally, once the new software is up and running, utility customers will no longer receive a postcard in the mail for their monthly billing.  Instead, they will receive an envelope with their utility statement enclosed.  The outside of the envelope will be clearly marked “City of Gering”.  

City Officials appreciate everyone’s patience as the conversion takes place.  The new software will be considerably more efficient and the City believes customers will be pleased with the improvements.
