The City of Gering announces the November 2024 cycle of the Gering Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Funding Program.  The November, 2024 funding cycle is for “minor grant” requests; applicants requesting $10,000 or less.  Gering occupation tax can be utilized by City departments, City facilities and non-profit entities-organizations that produce annual events and activities to increase overnight stays and tourism revenues for Gering. 

The City of Gering is accepting applications from non-profit businesses and organizations whose program fits into one or more of the Occupation Tax Funding Criteria.  Requests for the November, 2024 funding cycle should be submitted in writing and accompanied by the official application by 12:00 Noon on October 10, 2024. 

Occupation Tax Grant Applications will be reviewed by the committee at the earliest possible regularly scheduled meeting.  Applicant(s) will be asked to present at the meeting to answer any questions regarding the application.  Applicants will be notified one week prior to the meeting of the time and place for the review. 

Priority will be given to projects and events based on their ability to generate overnight visitors to Gering.  Applications may be obtained by contacting the Visitors Bureau at the number and email address below.
